I wouldn't say they are "issues". Imo they are simply decisions made by the designer to reflect the theme of CR which is the heroes invading the castle of an all-powerful vampire. I think the difficulty and sense of overwhelming danger is captured well.
However they had to generalize or remove some specific details from the original I6 D&D module due to limits of this simplified adventure system.
