I found this thread because it was the exact question I had during my first play. I went ahead and separated out the special tiles (except, of course, the Chapel, as I was doing Scenario 2). I wasn't sure, but felt the rules or scenario book should have at least clarified that, as it seems important.

How much do you think it affects the game if I continue to keep those special tiles out of the dungeon tile stack (unless they are specifically part of the scenario)? The reason is because it makes shuffling a lot easier and easier for set up/finding to have them divided rather than combined.

Another related question: It makes no mention of which two dungeon tiles are to be placed next to the Starting Tile. I chose two with the black arrow, so that there would be 2 fewer to draw during the game, but I felt a little guilt (not much!) about this.
