Yesterday we've finished our 5-adventure campaign with the rules that I posted above. We've started with adventure 9. Gameplay was easier than original "no campaign rules" but we had far more options with the game control and heroes progress. When our heroes got new advancement tokens the monster pool became harder. That is why we were always trying to keep our items than selling them for advancement tokens. In our games there were plenty of monsters and that is why we had more experience points to cancel encounters. It feels that the game was more balanced with the difficulty however I recommend to use only one surge health token per adventure. Last adventure was a blast! We were lucky with our dice rolls but even with our 8 advancement token in pool and with plenty of items (like Holy Avanger and Stake) it was a close call (Rogue with 2 HP and Warrior with 4 HP and 0 Sourge tokens).↧
