I think the real point here is quite possibly being missed. Forget who tore the box top or how it got torn, in fact take the torn box top completely out of the equation for just a minute.

Let's say you own a game, any game, with minis. You've had the game for quite some time and play it often. One day one of your favorite minis becomes fodder for the family pet and is reduced to unrecognizable carnage.

Naturally, you're going to want to try to replace it if you can. You're willing to "PURCHASE" with "CASH" a replacement from the company who produces the game. And then you find that the company is disinclined to acquiesce to any request for replacements of damaged items, regardless of how much money you want to throw at them.

You are hereby S.O.L. That toads the wet sprocket. It just blows dead donkey. As an owner of all 3 D&D adventure games, I guess I've been put on notice to guard all pieces to all 3 games with my life, as they have been forsaken by their parent that made them.

THAT, my friends, is the point.
